The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing an automotive seat.
An automotive seat, such as a seat for a truck or a seat for a van, is generally provided with a seat back with a seat back frame made of metal and a pad cover formed of synthetic resin with a pad molded and attached to the seat back frame. Generally, in the conventional method for attaching the seat back frame to the pad cover, the seat back frame and the pad cover are placed in a mold box, and are heated and compressed in the mold box to be attached. This method is disclosed, for example, in Japanese Laid-open Patent Publication Nos. 8-311522 and 2001-93392.
However, in the conventional method for attaching the seat back frame to the pad cover, the seat back frame and the pad cover are only heated and compressed by a hot press to be attached. Therefore, the seat back frame and the pad cover may be deformed by pressure of compression (called “pressing force”), or uneven deformation may be caused by a long period of time until the attachment is completed. Also, the seat back frame is deformed and a position of the seat back frame is displaced, with the result that the position of the seat back frame is displaced in an attaching direction. In addition, a post-processing step, such as injection molding of resin on the seat back frame, is needed. The post-processing step requires a lot of time and labor.
Accordingly, an object of the present invention is to provide a method for manufacturing an automotive seat that can reduce the length of the post-processing step./*
